Parker the Cartoonist…

Parker has taken in the past few weeks to drawing charaters and then wanting us to cut them out.  Basically, he is making his own action figures in the form of paper dolls.  It’s pretty funny. With all the toys that this boys has, he would rather make his own.  So, I guess for his birthday, we’re just going to get him a few reams of paper.  He spent most of yestarday drawing the characters from Larry Boy, a character created by the Veggie Tales folks.  He then had Kayce and I cut them all out.  Today, Kayce and Parker spent some time water coloring them.  I have to say he did a great job drawing and coloring them.  Especially, when you consider that he didn’t have anything in front of him at the time.  He drew and colored them all from memory.  Pretty good, I think, but I’m partial, of course.

Parker-In-A-Box

Today Parker Came to work with me.  He starts PDO (Parent’s Day Out) on Friday, but Kayce and I both thought it was today… So he stayed home with me.  We met his teachers and saw his classroom, which he was none to excited about.  Parker can be very shy in new situations.  But at least this gives him a head start on Friday, so he won’t be completely surprised about everything.

He’s just been hanging out in my office, entertaining everyone.  Right now he is watching Super Why on the slingbox here at church.  We received a video switcher back this morning that we had sent off for repair.  It was a very timely delivery.  The box was huge and filled with styrofoam peanuts (Please don’t e-mail me about the choking hazzards of styrofoam peanuts!  I certain you can choke on just about anything if you try hard enough.).  He spent at least an hour just sitting in that box playing.  I sure this will be one of those days he’ll remember for a long time.

Fun Visit

030208parkerdunbarbw01web.jpgMy mom and dad were down this weekend.  We had a great time.  We ate chili, played, ate chili, went to the park, flew my airplane, wrecked my airplane, ate chili, etc…  Sunday we went to Teri’s house to eat, which was fun, as usual, but even more so being able to have some my family there.  Parker and Carson, had a great time seeing Mamaw and Papaw, as well.  And Kayce and I didn’t mind having live in baby sitters for day, either.  But it’s monday and we’re back at work…  Oh well, back to the real world.  Kayce’s class is studying magnets this week…  I’m going to attempt to build a large enough electro-magnet to pull fillings out of her students heads…  Or at least, to pick up a paper clip.  We’ll see.  If you see a large plume of smoke coming from Clarksville, that would be me.  Oh, don’t forget to checkout the video and pictures sections, there are some new additions there, including the picture to the left.

I hope everyone else had an enjoyable weekend, and has a fantastic week.  I can’t think of anything coming up that I might need to post here, and quite frankly, I’m tired, so I think I’m going to call this post Finished.  Check back soon!

Parker’s 3rd Birthday

parker3rd.jpgParker celebrated his 3rd birthday with some family and friends.  We had a good time.  My family couldn’t make it for various reasons.  It’s tough living away from family, but that makes it all the sweeter when we can be together.  Parker, of course, got more stuff than any one child needs.  He won’t play with everything for weeks.  Check out the pictures page to see the party pictures.  I just have to say that the cake was really good, we are still eating on it, and hopefully, will be for sometime.  I can’t believe he is three, well, except for the way he acts sometimes…  Other than that, I can’t believe he is already three.  He’ll be in school in just 2 all too short years.  He and I are both getting old fast.

On another note, I hope you enjoy the new site design…  It has been a few weeks in the making.  I’m sure I’ll have little quirks to work out in the coming weeks, but I’m very happy with the way it has turned out.  I have a few things left to tweak graphicly, but the bones are in good shape.  So enjoy!
