What was your favorite Birthday Gift?

Parker’s 4th birthday is this week.  He’s already gotten several gifts, and in addition the haul he collected over Christmas, his room is about to explode.  We are trying to clean out his toys and only keep the ones he really plays with, or are age apprioprate.

This led me to the question…

What was your favorite Birthday Gift?  A Toy?  A Doll?  A Game?  Leave a Comment!

Freaky…

Immersive Media's Camera Head

Wanna really freak out your friends and family?  Show them this!

Google Maps has finally gotten around to updating most of the country with its street view feature.  So now you can type in just about any address on a public road and you will be able to look around that area just like you were there!  The technology is based on a camera head with 11 digital camera lenses built into it.  In this post on the Wired blog you can see the car and camera that take these amazing pictures.  Google has actually had to cut the resolution of these images due to lawsuits by people who were caught by the Google Car.  There are entire websites dedicated to searching through all the street views and finding the wierd and crazy things that these cars managed to capture.  Some include theives in the act, as well as equipment/software malfunctions that led to what looks like giant holes in space.

Altogether it is a very impressive technological achievement.  I suggest everyone take some time and check out their neighborhoods, and see you can find.  Oh, I should say that these images are not real time, I would hope most people would realize that, but you never know.  Also, it is funny to see in Clarksville’s images that some of the city was captured during the spring, and some during winter.  Downtown there is snow on the ground, but at my house trees are blooming.

Visit http://maps.google.com and type in your address to what you can see!

Parker-In-A-Box

Today Parker Came to work with me.  He starts PDO (Parent’s Day Out) on Friday, but Kayce and I both thought it was today… So he stayed home with me.  We met his teachers and saw his classroom, which he was none to excited about.  Parker can be very shy in new situations.  But at least this gives him a head start on Friday, so he won’t be completely surprised about everything.

He’s just been hanging out in my office, entertaining everyone.  Right now he is watching Super Why on the slingbox here at church.  We received a video switcher back this morning that we had sent off for repair.  It was a very timely delivery.  The box was huge and filled with styrofoam peanuts (Please don’t e-mail me about the choking hazzards of styrofoam peanuts!  I certain you can choke on just about anything if you try hard enough.).  He spent at least an hour just sitting in that box playing.  I sure this will be one of those days he’ll remember for a long time.

Potty Training Two Steps Back

Parker was doing very well with the potty training… Until the last few days. He started having more and more accidents, and now just wants to wear a diaper. So, we may have cursed ourselves, by saying how easy it was. He picked it up so fast, then, for lack of a better word, pooped out. Oh well… such is the way of things. So, we are trying to figure out how to get him back to the potty again, any suggestions would be much appreciated. Other than that… Not much going on here at the Susong Ranch. We have another dead tree… I’m trying to get the power company to cut that one down for free. We’ll see what happens.
This just in… Parker has been using the potty today, hurray! So maybe we aren’t horrible parent’s after all. Hazah!!
