Operation Serve. A word.

Just a quick word about operation serve today. In case you didn’t know… Operation Serve is a huge community service, or missions, project that Grace Community Church does annually. You can read more about it at http://www.gcomchurch.com/operation-serve. Today we woke at 7am, yes on a Saturday. I’m not going to say I didn’t have second thoughts about it or complain, but we did get up, get ready, and get to work. Kayce took the boys and worked at the childcare center, watching everyone’s children so they could be free to show God’s love to the community by meeting physical needs of all kinds. I think some of the home projects are going to come close to remodeling whole houses. I worked at rossview high school, helping Jim and LuEllyn Wilcox paint and fix up a senior lunch room, and clean up backstage. It was a good time and I’m glad I to help out. I didn’t volunteer last year, I stayed home with the boys while kayce worked. I’m looming forward to next year. It is a great visual for the community to see a church put feet to their faith, so to speak. Now it’s time to rest alittle bit and catch up on my coffee intake. I’m about 8 shots of espresso down from my daily norm.

And the Thunder Rolls…

Clarksville Storms - From News Channel 5 SkyNet Cam

Clarksville Storms - From News Channel 5 SkyNet Cam

We had some bad storms roll through last night.  I thought I had better post something, since it has been awhile since my last post.  I was afraid some folks might think we had been buried by a tornado.  We weren’t.  We made it though alright.  I was alittle disappointed.  I opened the back door last night to let the hail fly in.  Now, before you say anything, I had a perfectly good reason for inviting the storm in.  I wanted to get a good picture to send into the news.  Well, none of the hail that made it into the house was large or pretty enough to make a picture, so I missed my chance.  Oh well…  There’s always the next storm, I guess.
Now, on the home front.  We are all doing well.  Parker had his first Dentist appointment today.  He did really well.  They said he did great, and was super cute.  He has his moments.  Most of those moments just never happen when he is with me or Kayce.  4 year olds, what can you do, right?
The most important news out of the Susong household, is by far, that fact that I’m getting the new iPhone 3Gs tomorrow!  I will be at AT&T at 7am to pickup my phone!  Not waiting in line, no!  I have pre-ordered, and will walk to the front of any line, and wave my reciept.  My phone was shipped directly from the factory to the store with my name on it.  So, no wondering IF I’m going to get one.  Nope.  It will be a great day.  Also, Kayce gets my current iPhone 3G, so we will be most awesome iPhone lovin’ family ever!  WOO HOO!
Well, that’s all for now.  I’m sure I’ll be posting some pictures and what not from Parker’s dentist appointment, and of my new phone soon.  Keep a look out!

Carson’s Birthday

We had a great time yestarday at Carson’s First Birthday party.  We were glad that most of my family got to come in.  Check out the pictures page to see the pictures from the party…  Video to come soon.  We also enjoyed the Clarksville Christmas Parade afterwards.  Good times in Clarksville.  I just love this time of year.  I have a busy week or two coming up as I get help to get things ready for First Christmas at First Baptist.  I was about to the put the links so you could take alook at First Christmas from last year on our website, but I just remembered that our web host had someone upload some maliousicous code to their servers, and they are down at the moment.  Oh well… Just something else I’ll have to deal with tomorrow.  I hope everyone has a great week.
