We have had a great Thanksgiving weekend! No baby yet, but still a great weekend. Kayce has been off since Wednesday, and is ready to go back to school, not that she will be ther very long. We have a doc visit on Monday and I anticipate scheduling a date for the baby to come. We will see. We went down to McGregor Park on Friday to look at the lights. We made a pit stop at Starbucks and I’m glad we did my Pumpkin Spice Latte kept me warm and Kayce and Parker had their hot chocolate. You can see the pictures on the pictures page. It was fun, Parker had a good time looking at the lights. His little face was red when we got back to the car. We got our tree up today, we wanted to get a real tree, but with the baby coming thought it best to wait till next year. I don’t really know why, it just seems like something you should do for new babies… Parker was asleep when we finished, and when he woke up from his nap, he just stood and stared at it for the longest time. I think this Christmas will be more fun than any other so far. He is old enough to understand what it going on, plus we will have a new little baby. It is going to be a busy and exciting time in the Susong house this Christmas. Wish us luck! I hope everyones Thanksgiving was a good as ours and have a very Merry Christmas!
We had a guest this weekend for the first time in awhile. Kristina, my sister, came to visit. We had a great time catching up, and Parker had a great time with his Aunt “MisTina, Kristine, or Amber”. He had several different names for her at first, but got it down pretty quickly. Kayce and Kris went shopping for baby stuff on Saturday. I think Kris was alittle freaked out that Kayce might go into labor while they were walking around.Â
I finally got the stroller cleaned up and put back together after it had been “in storage” for the past two years. So, with that done, we are pretty well on our way to be being ready for Carson whenever he wants to show up. Now we just wait, and wait, and wait. Kayce has a doctors visit tomorrow, maybe we will get to schedule an induction soon. I know Kayce hopes so.Â
Check back soon, we should have Baby Carson Pictures within a week or two…
I’m about to head home from work, and thought I would post something really quickly. We had a fun weekend. We have been planning for awhile to go to the Nashville Zoo’s Halloween event, Ghouls at Grassmere. We went Saturday evening. It was fun, but will probably be more fun when Parker is older. Their big draw is the Haunted Hayride through the zoo, and Parker is just alittle too young for that. Plus he really doesn’t like hayrides. They have corporate sponsors giving out candy at treat stations around the zoo. So everyone gets dressed up and walks around the zoo in the dark (can’t see the animals or they are up for night) getting candy. They have games, food, bon fires, etc… It is fun, but we also got there about 7pm so alittle late for a 2 year old. We’ll do it again next year, I’m sure, maybe we’ll go earlier. There were hundreds of cars everywhere when we pulled in. They were parked all over the place. I was really surpirsed at how big the event was. I didn’t expect that many people at all. Parker wouldn’t wear his costume at first (well, he wouldn’t have at all, but we wrestled him into it kicking and screaming, literally). He got over it fast, of course, when everyone started commenting on how cute he was as Frankestein. He thrives on attention. At one point he even started walking like Frankestein and growling. I’ve got some padding for his head for halloween so it won’t be so droopy. Either way it is still cute. We saw at least 30 Spiderman costume, but no one had a Frankenstein. Well, check out the pictures on the picture page. I’m off to fix a leaking toilet. We had a small pond downstairs this morning. More on that later….
We had a fun weekend. Saturday morning we went to the Patterson Farm for some fall fun. They have hayrides, corn mazes, buffalo, pumpkins to paint, etc… The kids had fun running around. Check out the pictures. Also, I had a good time cleaning out the flower beds around the house. Well, I actually only got the side from the porch to the driveway, and the bed around the big tree in front done. I went to lowes and got 15 bags of stone to pour in there to make it look nice. We opted for rock instead of mulch… It looks great, but is MUCH heavier. And I think I almost killed the cavalier by putting 15 bags of rock it. I distributed the weight ok, and made it home alright. It will take much more to finish the rest of the beds around the house, but it will be worth it when it is done. It already looks so much better. I hate I have neglected the outside of the house for so long. It tough to get it all done at once, inside and outside. But we are on our way…Â
Well, I guess the whole week wasn’t bad… Actually, none of it was completely bad. Just a very hectic Thursday and Friday. Where to begin… Well, Thursday we had a funeral service for a very wonderful lady, and I was all dressed up, tie and all. Anyone who has ever seen me at work knows… I don’t do ties often… well, ever. So I was all dressed up, and wouldn’t you know the network goes down. The first thing I have to do when I get to work in a TIE is stick my head in the ceiling and start tracing wires and trying to find the problem. Which by the way was a denial of service on the server. I tried everything. It was very annoying… I ended up having to call in the calvary, Charlie, an IT guy at a local accounting firm. After alot of poking around and trouble shooting, we were able to track the problem to our DNS setup. What a mess! Anyway. We got it resolved, but not before most people went home due to not being able to work. That was about 3:30pm. That is the worst part of my job, having the pressure of nobody else being able to do their jobs until I’ve done mine. At that point I had about and hour to get the fellowship hall ready for a fundraising event. Well, it is stressful, but everything got done. And I got home about 9:30pm. It has been a long time since I pulled a 12 hour day.
Ok, now Friday… It started out a much better day, until the phone system went out. We couldn’t call in or out… Actually, as I sit here at the banquet (oh, I am worked the banquet from 6-9 Thursday and tonight). The phones still aren’t working… After the banquet I’m going to go try a few more things to get it working… Long couple of days… Oh, and when came back to church tonight for the banquet, I found a snake sitting inside the music entrance doors. What a DAY!!! Well, I’m taking it easy tomorrow. We’re going to the pumpkin patch with Kayce’s sister and their children. WHEW!!!
Oh, the picture is of the lightning and storms that came through last night. It is from the leaf chronicle. Actually, it was taken by the husband of a lady worked with last year.Â
Well, it has been a busy, BUSY weekend here at the Susong house. Last week was Kayce’s Fall Break, so we took off to visit my parent’s. We returned late Tuesday night, and I went to work Wednesday and Thursday. I was off Friday, so we could get a jump on working on the baby’s room (See Pictures). We spent all weekend, dawn until dusk, working on that room. It was in much worse shape than any of the other rooms we had worked on. Parker’s was much easier. We did alot more time consuming things to Carson’s room. The tapeing and painting of the squares took awhile, and several steps. We still have to touch up alittle. Also, I am in the middle of refinishing the dresser that will go in his room. It was given to us when we had Parker, by Kayce’s parents. It is a nice piece, real wood, and well built, but it was just used. I meant to redo it along time ago, but oh well… Well, I finally started it Saturday morning with stipping and scraping, then sanding, and that was just the dresser, I still had drawers to do. Well, right now the dresser has it’s 3rd coat of polyurothene drying in the garage, and the drawers got just their 1st. It looks really nice. We went dark with it, and plan on getting a rocking chair to match. We still need a rug for Carson’s room, as well as a few other things, but even if he comes early now, he has a place to sleep. I’ll get the pictures from our trip to my parent’s as well as the dresser project soon. Have a great week!!! I’m going to take a nap!!!!
I had an interesting day today. Well, it started last night… The bathroom sink was alittle slow, and has been for sometime. I decided I had put it off long enough, and got the snake. I had it taken care of, or so I thought… I had taken great care with the old aluminum wall bend, but appearantly not enough. When I got it all hooked back up and tested it, water shot out of that pipe like crazy. There were a couple of holes in it, and it looked like only the chrome was holding it together. Today, I got up when to Lowes (I didn’t have a pipe wrench to get the old wall bend off), and got to work. When to grabbed the old pipe to pull it out, it crumble in my hand. I’m very glad someone came up with PVC, it makes things so much better. No rusting!!! Anyway, I finally got it all put back together, and the old pipe replaced. It runs like a dream now. Well, I’m off to bed. Check out this video I just finished editing for the church plant. Funny stuff.
Well, we had our 3D ultrasound this evening! It was great. What fun technology is. You can check out the best of the results on the pictures page. But just for our blog readers… a fun comparison… Is it Parker or is it Carson?? Check back to find out… Or if you are really clever you can just hover over the image to view the file name…

Parker had alittle run in with a shopping cart yestarday at the grocery store. Kroger has these little kid carts so he can shop along with us. Kayce does the real shopping, while I walk with Parker filling his cart up with cookies, chips… basically, just junk food. By the end of the store he is stretched out, pushing as hard as he can, just worn out. He loves it! Well, yestarday, things were going along just like normal, except he kept doing this jumping stop thing. And of course, the inevitable happened. He busted his nose on the cart. We were in the bathroom for awhile, trying to get it stop. Kayce thought it was her fault, it wasn’t. She felt pretty bad, though. We did have a “lively” debate about how to stop a nose bleed on the way home. I still think you are suppossed to put pressure on it, and tilt your head back to reduce blood flow to your nose… She doesn’t. I would apprecieate anyone backing me up on the head tilting thing…
Also, on Wednesday we go for our 3D ultrasound, we are super excited. This was so much fun with Parker, I can’t wait to get a sneak peak at what Carson (I think that is the name we going with) will look like. Parker’s pictures were so great, I hope Carson cooperates as good as Parker did. We’ll see. Of course, you will be able to see the pictures here when we get them. Have a great week.
