Oh the pictures and video I find on my phone. Every now and then I have to go through my pictures on my iPhone and delete random pictures of feet, blurry toys, too close faces, or just blackness… But these were too funny to delete. Maybe it’s because it’s so late/early, or the fact Parker had a photo shoot with Hand Manny’s tools… Whatever the reason, I had to share these.

Pumpkin Patch
Kayce and I took a day off last week to go with Parker on his preschool class field trip to the pumpkin patch. This is always one of my favorite times of the year, we all have fun and I get some great pictures. Here are some of the best of the 450 that I took. I shot a ton of closeups of the different gourds they had and they turned out really well. I won’t put those up here becuase I think I can sell them to a stock photo site I’m on. Thanks.

Parker’s Artwork
Parker is loving preschool. Tomorrow is his second field trip and Kayce and I are going along. I brought some of his artwork with me to work today and scanned it. We thinks its pretty good, but, of course, we are totally biased. Take a look at a sampling of 4 year old painting below. Enjoy.
Dream Job…
I’ve often said at work, “we just make it up as we go along…” speaking of tech work, of course. I am glad to have such a great job, where we don’t really just have to make it up. We have a very definate job to do. Share God’s love. Spread the Good News of Jesus. Simple, right? Well, it is until you get people involved. We always have a unique way of making simple things complicated. Oh, to be like Wally…
Free TV
Good morning all. I’m typing this post from my iPhone so beware of spelling errors. I just wanted to share something interesting, at least to me. I just last week started playing around with our 32″ LCD TV and found it to have a built-in HD-Digital Tuner. What does that mean? Well, it means that I don’t have to have that handy little converter box in order to get broadcast TV since the digital changeover earlier this year. So, I was bored one day and found an old single pole antenna that came with an old TV we had. Remember when all TVs came with antennas? Maybe, not. But they did! I just slapped that antenna on our TV downstairs and started a channel scan… What’s this? WSMV in full 1080 HD?! I couldn’t believe how clear the signal was! The setup was ugly but it worked! So, I started looking for a better looking solution and tried out an amplified antenna from Target. It was a Phillips antenna with a built in powered amp. It didn’t work any better than my cheap little antenna without an amp. So, I figured the solution to get the most and best quality of channels was to replace my sat dish (which we don’t use… See post on canceling our TV service) with an outdoor antenna.
So, I searched the web. I was determined not to out one of those big airplane skeleton looking things on my roof. I was happy to find the terrestrial digital DB2. It is ultra small, but does a great job. I just slid the sat dish off and the antenna on. Fiddled with the aiming alittle and voilà ! Free TV! Well almost free, the antenna was $38.00. And I had to re-terminate some of our coax cables, but it works great. We get every broadcast channel is digital picture and most are in HD. The rest still look better than Charter ever did!
And let me clue you all into something, if you didn’t already know. Since the digital changeover… Broadcasters, which means anyone who owns an broadcast antenna, have found themselves with these little “sub” channels. Meaning, what used to be channel 5, is now channel 5-1. That allows these broadcasters to lease their sub-channels, i.e. 5-2, 5-3, etc… So, now small time cable channels are able to lease these channels and be broadcast over the air, without having to build a broadcast tower of their own! So instead of just getting the big 3 over the air (ABC, CBS, NBC), we get about 15-20 channels, including a 24 hour kids cable channel called Qubo.Â
So, tired of paying those cable and sat companies big bucks each month. Well, maybe you should think about dropping them, going with netflix for $8.00/month, and getting an antenna…Â Trust me, this ain’t your parent’s old rabbit ears and tin foil!
Funniest Instructions Ever!
Whoever wrote these installation instructions must have been getting alittle bored. But these are the funniest directions I’ve ever read!

Operation Serve. A word.
Just a quick word about operation serve today. In case you didn’t know… Operation Serve is a huge community service, or missions, project that Grace Community Church does annually. You can read more about it at http://www.gcomchurch.com/operation-serve. Today we woke at 7am, yes on a Saturday. I’m not going to say I didn’t have second thoughts about it or complain, but we did get up, get ready, and get to work. Kayce took the boys and worked at the childcare center, watching everyone’s children so they could be free to show God’s love to the community by meeting physical needs of all kinds. I think some of the home projects are going to come close to remodeling whole houses. I worked at rossview high school, helping Jim and LuEllyn Wilcox paint and fix up a senior lunch room, and clean up backstage. It was a good time and I’m glad I to help out. I didn’t volunteer last year, I stayed home with the boys while kayce worked. I’m looming forward to next year. It is a great visual for the community to see a church put feet to their faith, so to speak. Now it’s time to rest alittle bit and catch up on my coffee intake. I’m about 8 shots of espresso down from my daily norm.
Life Pictures, Part 3… or 4
Ok, enough with the Dilberts!
I know that’s what most of you are thinking, but I can’t stop… These are just too funny! Today’s was great.
I have a feeling people are saying that behind my back sometimes… It’s been awhile since I’ve updated anything on my blog, so I’m uploading everything at once. Coming up soon… Life Pictures, Part 3 (or 4, I can’t keep up).
